Chapatin is destined to be someone’s special treasure...
Chapatin

SEPTEMBER 25, 2020
Five pounds, maybe six. And that’s since he’s fattened up a bit.
So how does such a little old dog wind up on a Tijuana street, frightening, sprinting, rolling to the curb when a fast car clipped and spun him? This is a question we have no answer for. But we do know what happened after that: A kind woman who witnessed the accident picked up the little dog and took him into her arms. And this kind woman, she knew who to call.
Yolanda hosts a houseful of the old, the broken and the small. She named the little dog Chapatin and saw to his care. Yolanda has a way with these little fighters and survivors – despite the hell each one of her wards have lived through, they always arrive to us….whole. Yolanda’s little rescue dogs are proof of the power of love.
He doesn’t have many teeth. We don’t know what Chapatin’s previous ten years looked like, but we know what his future holds. Chapatin is destined to be someone’s special treasure, safe and pampered for what we hope is another decade.
Thank you to Oregon Dog Rescue for welcoming this wee senior and matching him up with the person he’s truly meant for, and who is meant for him.
Thank you to KyLee and Havi, spending their weekend driving from Oregon to Tijuana and back again so Chapatin, Montana and thirteen others have lives ahead that honor and celebrate the commitment of women like Yolanda, Hilda, Rebeca, Estrellita and the many other rescuers working so hard to change the fate of street dogs in Tijuana.
Thank you to our donors and supporters. You enable us, you are us, and we are making a better world, together.
Chapatin, we love you.
