Meet Ice. Ice is a flower of joy, sprouted from a seed.
As you know, a planted seed must be nurtured. At first, you see no signs, no hint of what will be. But still, you nurture.
The smallest sprout is how every flower begins, then there are leaves. What was very small begins to grow, to open up. A bud appears. That bud lets you know that joy is coming; that joy is imminent. And with the love you’ve given it and the care you’ve taken, and with patience, what started as a seed, it’s very planting an act of faith, blossoms.
That’s Ice’s story. She was rescued from the Los Cabos streets, a weak, ill and protective mother of two healthy little puppies. She gave those puppies everything, didn’t have much left by the time BAJA S.A.F.E. found her. The puppies were adopted and Ice was left to heal, to fatten up, to trust again, to love again, and to learn joy. It might take Ice a bit more coaxing, a bit more patience. But she blossoms, and the beauty of her happiness is breathtaking.
Ice will be welcomed to her new life by Street Dog Hero in Eugene, Oregon after spending a full year with our friends at BAJA S.A.F.E.. Ice’s story is one of tenderness and cultivation. Just look what love has grown!
Thank you for supporting our mutt-mutts. You inspire us, lift us, move us – every day. If you are able to help us with Ice’s transportation costs, we are extra grateful.
Ice, we love you.
