Hit by a car. That was days ago.
Dragged into the shade, an act of kindness....but shade moves.
Baking in the sun. Dying in the sun. Dying in the shade too, but not as quickly.
Beneath that fur protrudes every single bone. Was it that way before the accident? Or has that happened since?
Won't eat. Drank a little. Tried to bite Nirva until Nirva whispered softly, "I am taking you straight to the doctor." Then gave in. Went limp with surrender, and relief.
Heading to doctor right now. We don't have the means to help another, but how can we not?
Will update soon. Thank you for caring. Thank you for your understanding. Thank you for your compassion.

Update: She's so weak.
She is dehydrated. She is anemic. She was teaming with ticks but her blood had too little to offer them, so more crawled about her than were attached.
She has a gastro infection and countless parasites. Her liver is damaged. But her physical weakness scares us most of all.
We named her Jasmine. She is our delicate white flower. Right this moment, fluids are flowing, nutrition is flowing. We will know in a few days if she will bloom for us. Heaven knows we are trying.
Jasmine was rescued from a road shoulder a few hours ago. She'd been hit by car and laid in pain, baking there for days before we learned her story and immediately went to fetch her. Jasmine needs everything good we can offer her, and nothing bad ever again.
She needs us, all of us. She is hospitalized, three days minimum so long as she fights. She will fight by resting, and growing stronger.
Another update coming when there is news to share. Please picture it good news.
Jasmine we love you.

A photo of a miracle: This is Jasmine.
Facebook tries to help us be relevant. They tell us to post a photo that is clear and concise. "Photos of appealing subjects looking straight at camera work best," the algorithm tells us. But we know like you know some of the most beautiful photographs in the world - and some of the ones most worthy of attention - aren't about cuteness or immediacy - they are about heart.
Jasmine was about as near to death as a dog that didn't die could be. She'd been hit by a car. She was untreated for days, lying on a road shoulder in hot sun. The ticks crawling over Jasmine were active and unattached because her anemia and dehydration left nothing for them. She was infected, broken and emaciated. And worst, she was defeated. She was very weak but there was more to the reason why she refused to move when Nirva came to save her. Jasmine was done. She was over this world.
While it would have broken our hearts we still would have felt purposeful if our rescuing Jasmine led to nothing more than offering Jasmine a swift and peaceful death.
We believe dogs are deep and spiritual beings. We believe their emotional intelligence is keen and profound. We believe that Jasmine could feel all the concern and love this Mutt Mutt Engine community sent to her, and the generosity of so many so willing to help.
Today, Jasmine left the hospital under her own power. This is Jasmine now, indulging in the lucid experience living things get to: Cool water on a hot day; the sound of it running; a gentle touch; a soft whisper; love.
It's been touch and go. The business of healing spreads out before us, a lake now versus an ocean. Today we can tell you as we've dreamed of telling you for days now: Looks like Jasmine's going to make it!!!
Jasmine's initial hospital bills have been covered by your donations. Thank you so much! We have so many dogs in need or in crisis right now and Jasmine herself has a long road ahead. But today we ask for nothing more than to share this moment with you. It's miraculous! We are overwhelmingly grateful.
Jasmine we love you.
